Gearing up for fur season

Gearing up for fur season

It’s that time again. Despite the warmer fall, Toronto is already full of fur. How about your town? Unfortunately, thanks to the success of companies like Canada Goose, fur is making a bit of a comeback. “How is this possible?”, you ask? Well, here’s our take is this:

Thanks to effective anti-fur campaigns in the 70s, 80s and 90s, pelt production fell by 62% by 1990. That is a BIG drop. We doubt VHS tapes even fell out of fashion so quickly! This left the fur industry with no option but to fold or to rebrand, reinvent, and recreate the story of fur. So they did. Then along came the perfect market– young people who did not have the benefit of experiencing the incredible anti-fur movements of the 70s,80s and 90s. The industry’s reinvention included a series of perpetuated myths, or ‘traps‘ as we prefer to call them.

Why call them ‘traps’? Because in addition to trapping animals, the industry traps our fellow Canadians as well. Familiarize yourself with the various traps, and join us in putting a stop to this, once and for all.

I agree with this. The popular media or whatnot makes jackets like Canada Goose and Moose Knuckle & shoes like Flurries and Uggs look like the new cool. hip, thing to wear and mindless sheep of my sad generation like to follow these stupid trends along with so many other! It’s really sad that some people these days cannot see the cruelty and heartlessness behind their so called “fashion statements”. It’s so sad. For them and for the poor animal that loses it’s life. You don’t have to love animals to see that murder is wrong but somehow their cries go unheard….ITS JUST NOT FAIR!!!
