Speak out against “contest” to kill BC wolves
The Vancouver Sun recently revealed that no permits or permission is necessary to hold a wolf-kill contest in BC. According to the article, Provincial gaming officials say they won’t be intervening in a controversial wolf-kill contest in the Peace River region because no permits are required for such an activity.
Killing wolves for a contest or to appease cattle ranchers is completely reckless and unacceptable. There is no “skill” or particular merit in riding around on snowmobiles, chasing and harassing wolves to the point of exhaustion and blasting them to bits with powerful rifles, all so someone can win some prize money.
“This is not about putting food on the table or feeding families, this is about feeding the egos of small men with big guns.“
Chris Darimont, Conservation Scientist, University of Victoria

3. Learn more about BC wolves and speak out against the BC government’s “draft management plan“.
